Gabrial Garcia Marquez

Gabriel Garcia Marquez's purpose on writing A Story Of A Shipwrecked Sailor was to get his big break, when he was writing for El Espectador. This was to start off his career. personally i believe Luis Alejandro Velasco who is the main character reflects Marquez. Luis' character was he showed up almost dead after being shipwrecked. that was how marquez was. He knew what the world asked of him. But now he was ready to really give them his work.
"The wind died down by four in the afternoon. since i could see nothing but water in sky, since i had no points of reference, more than two hours had passed before i realised the raft was moving." (Marquez, 25)
